It is the aim of the present study to examine the attachment quality of adolescents to their parents and peers as a moderator for the association between callous unemotional traits CU-traits and aggressive behavior. The data was assessed by correlation and hierarchical regression analysis. CU-traits and aggressive behavior is ificantly and positively correlated.
A good attachment quality to parents and peers, is associated with less aggressive behavior.

However, a moderating effect on the relationship between CU-traits and aggressive behavior can only be determined by the quality of attachment to the parents. In adolescents with high CU-traits, a high attachment quality to the parents weakens the association to aggressive behavior. The role of attachment quality to the parents in relation to the development of aggressive behavior among adolescents with CU-traits is discussed.
